The theme of the IDEA 2012 conference is Energizing Communities: Creating Solutions with District Energy and Combined Heat and Power. At a time when our governments are considering municipal infrastructure needs, and a national energy vision, community energy opportunities for energy efficiency, security and resiliency need to be recognized and supported. Our Conference theme reflects the growing significance of what Canadian communities are envisioning for District Energy—vital infrastructure to realize local energy sustainability and cut emissions of greenhouse gases.
